Ministerial Inquiry into NSW Bus Services
In July 2003 the NSW Minister of Transport Services requested an inquiry into NSW bus services. This Inquiry, chaired by ex-Premier Barry Unsworth, released an Interim Report in November 2003.
The Interim Report made a vigorous attempt to mitigate many of the historical legacies with which NSW bus services are saddled, including parochial contract areas, concessional inequities, lack of realism outside metropolitan areas and a Claytons regime for competitive tendering.
David was involved in the development of a response to the Interim Report on behalf of the Transport Panel of the Sydney Division of Engineers Australia. The views expressed are those of the Panel members and not of the Division or the Institution.
