Thus 19% of vehicles added to the Australian car fleet in 2007 were the products of the local car industry ("big Aussie sixes", as favoured by fleet buyers), compared to 61% from Asia (and neither China nor India produced any cars for export to Australia in 2007) 12% from Europe and 8% from elsewhere (mainly Volkswagens from South Africa, but also America - north and south).
